You could finally learn about Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, saving files in Windows, email issues, Blackboard, getting started with making web pages in Dreamweaver and more! All classes are easy to understand, low pressure and actually fun! What if you have advanced level skills, and need classes to improve your existing skills in creating web pages, online course design, cascading style sheets, and more? What if you don’t want to attend a class, but need a tutorial on Blackboard to refresh your skills? CLT news is on the way with RSS.

If this sounds great, and you need a convenient way to become informed of the new and exciting things happening at CLT, you can subscribe to CLT's RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds to get CLT news delivered directly to your desktop!

What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines. Using an RSS reader, you can view data feeds from various news sources, such as CNN.com, including headlines, summaries, links to full stories. For more information about RSS and descriptions of various news readers, read the New York Times article, "Fine-Tuning Your Filter for Online Information." Sounds complicated? Don’t worry, just a couple of clicks and you’ll be receiving information from CLT so you will never miss those great events again!

How do I access RSS?
There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds. You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you select, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add the URL/shortcut that corresponds to the topic that interests you into your reader.

An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader. For example, Pluck, Bloglines and My Yahoo! users can now add RSS feeds directly to their personal page.
